I was born in Rawlins, Wyoming and graduated from Encampment High School. I earned Bachelors degrees in Animal Science and Secondary Science Education from the University of Wyoming. Additionally, I obtained a Masters of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
I often use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as my foundation for therapy, and as a certified EMDR counselor, I find it particularly effective. Recently, I completed a class focused on utilizing EMDR for pain management. In addition to my EMDR training, I am also skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I've incorporated the Emotional Freedom Technique, which utilizes tapping, into my practice as well. Furthermore, I have completed an externship in Emotion Focused Couples Counseling (EFCT), which I apply when working with couples. As a person-centered counselor, I prioritize addressing your concerns with the type of therapy that works best for you. Additionally, I am pleased to offer my services as a Christian counselor, integrating faith into the therapeutic process.
I help people who experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, marital concerns, and trauma. As an EMDR counselor, I have worked with clients dealing with personality disorders and eating concerns. I offer individual counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling. Additionally, as a Christian counselor, I can provide guidance from a spiritual perspective if my client desires it. I usually work with adults aged 18 years and older, unless it’s in a family setting. I also offer telehealth counseling via Zoom, but the client must be located in Wyoming for this service.
My goal is to assist you in achieving a healthier lifestyle and addressing any concerns you wish to work through to enhance your health—spiritually, emotionally, or physically.
I am a provider with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, and Medicaid. If I am not a provider with your insurance company, I suggest you contact your insurance and inquire if they cover mental health counseling. Many insurance companies will work with counselors who are out of their network.
